Was Yazid involved in the martyrdom of Imam Husain (R)?
Question:- Was Yazid involved in the martyrdom of Imam Husain (R)?
Answer:- Yazid was directly involved in the martyrdom of Imam Husain (رضي الله عنه).
Imam Jalal Uddin Suyuti (Rh) Has mentioned in his book ‘Tarikhul Kholafa’ that the Iraqi people sent letters to Imam Husain (رضي الله عنه) inviting him to come there. Then Husain (رضي الله عنه) left Makkah for Iraq on the 10th of Jilhaj. He was accompanied by some men, women and children of the family. then Yazid wrote a letter to Ubaydullah bin Ziad, the governor of Iraq, instructing him to fight with Hussein (رضي الله عنه).
(175 pages of Tarikhul Kholafa’s book (141 pages according to other prints)
Hazrat Imam Husain (رضي الله عنه) did not go with the intention of fighting, he never wanted to fight but yazid’s soldiers were forced to fight. The waters of the Euphrates (Forat) have been shut off, and their own children have been martyred in front of their eyes. 6-month-old baby Ali Asghar (R) was martyred by an arrow in his lap. All this has happened for the letter which sent by Yazid.
Even after such a tragic event, the Maulana of many erroneous doctrines, especially the Ahl al-Hadith brothers, have been trying to prove Yazid’s innocence. Yazid openly engaged in anti-Islamic acts, tied horses to the Nawabi in the mosque and stopped the Azan to prayer for three days, burned the cover of the Kaaba, considered alcohol to be permissible, and many other anti-Islamic acts. Yazid was so bad for that at present no one names the child Yazid. Those who love Yazid don’t keep it either. But look around, there are countless people named Hossain.
Dear readers, the right path can never be found by going against the Ahl al-Bayt.
Those who love the Ahl al-Bayt will surely be on the right path.
Narrated Jabir: I heard and saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) riding on a camel called Qaswa on the day of Arafat during the Farewell Hajj. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: O people! I am leaving something among you that if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray. And that is the Book of Allah and my descendants – my Ahl al-Bayt. [Mishkat Sharif: Page 56]
